Large Antique Pastoral Print Titled Parting Day
A large antique pastoral print wood engraving titled Parting Day, after a painting by Benjamin Williams Leader. The original painting dates to 1883, with this engraving published in June 1887, making it a lovely late-Victorian example.
The scene depicts a quiet, panoramic riverside village, with buildings reflected in the calm water, capturing the peaceful, atmospheric landscapes for which Leader is well known.
The engraving is presented in a solid oak frame with an attractive gold-tone inner edge, complementing the warmth of the print. There is no glass or backing, and a cord is fitted to the reverse for landscape hanging.
A characterful and decorative antique print, ideal for adding a sense of history and tranquillity to a traditional or period interior.
